Standing before her peers, Essence Glover knew the White Bengals were coming to an end.
"When they asked the question about the curriculum and how it would fit it, that's when I knew we wouldn't make it," the dual-enrolled high school senior said.
On Monday night, Glover's team was the third one eliminated from SFCC's "The Interns" competition, which features teams of four students who compete in weekly tasks for a 12-credit scholarship and spring internship in their field of study.
Each task is planned by a local business.
The most recent task was to propose a curriculum for Gainesville High School's Academy of Health Professions.
Janine Plavac, director of the academy, helped decide which team to eliminate.
"The curriculum [the White Bengals] had in there, I had no idea what it was, and they couldn't answer my questions," she said.
Now that the White Bengals have been eliminated, two teams - the Bomb Squad and the Intellects - remain.
The final task is to raise money and perform local projects for veterans' issues.
The last team will be eliminated at a closing ceremony Nov. 14.
