Deep breath, Gators fans.
If you haven?t uttered words similar to Caldwell?s already, you?ve probably had it running through your mind at some point.
In my opinion, you can pretty much throw the records out the window this year when ranking the top teams.
But the BCS computers will go haywire without them, so you can?t look at UF as one of the five most talented squads in the country.
You have to look at UF as a two-loss team.
As has been the case recently in college sports, the Gators are sitting pretty.
They are the highest-ranked two-loss team by a deceivingly wide margin of .17 points in the latest BCS rankings.
Maybe it?s the hangover effect from the national championship or how hard the schedule is, but for some reason, the computers and so-called experts ranked UF ahead of one-loss Southern Cal and only two spots behind Kansas, an undefeated team from a BCS conference.
By now you know UF controls its own destiny on its quest to the Southeastern Conference Championship.
But at No. 11 in the BCS, the national hope is still there.
And who?s to say the Gators aren?t a deserving team?
Top-ranked Ohio State hasn?t played anybody, and neither has No. 2 Boston College.
No. 3 LSU needed a late comeback on its home field to beat the Gators.
It?s a total joke that teams like Arizona State (No. 4), Virginia Tech (No. 8) and even Kansas (No. 9) are in the national discussion.
Voters need to forget about records and put the best teams at the top.
The BCS is a season-long format created to find the two best teams in college football to play and determine who is No. 1.
Does anybody really think a game between Ohio State and Boston College could yield an undisputed champion?
Nobody in their right mind can make an argument that those teams are better than LSU, UF, Oklahoma and Southern Cal.
Only time will tell whether the BCS will shake out the right way this time.
No two-loss team has ever played for a BCS title.
After the win at Kentucky, a reporter asked Meyer if a two-loss team coming from the SEC had a chance to break the mold.

Meyer doesn?t have to say it, but his players can, and so can his fans.
