Changes to the paths and times of several bus routes will go into effect today.
In addition to the route changes, spouses and partners of UF students and employees will now be able to ride Regional Transit System buses for free.
Campus Route 122, the North-South Circulator, will change its route to travel clockwise around campus and include access to the Hub.
The changes were due to more than 20 students who complained to RTS by phone or e-mail, Regional Transit System Transit Director Jesus Gomez said.
"The ones who used to ride it before are happy about it," he said. "We already have e-mails saying thank you."
The route will be a few minutes longer, but the same amount of buses will run, Gomez said.
While opening free bus rides to spouses will affect 1,705 people, Gomez said bus schedules will not be adjusted, and crowding should not be a problem.
The rides for spouses are being pre-paid by UF, which already participates in RTS's Employee Bus Program, allowing students and employees to ride the buses free of charge.
The program will cost UF ,58,500 this year, making it the largest group that participates.
Alachua County, the VA Hospital and Shands also pre-pay for bus rides for their employees.
City Routes 29 and 75 will also see minor changes.
