I am writing in response to the DART issued Friday to protesters who didn't show up at the policy forum regarding Andrew Meyer's Tasering.
Come on, Alligator editors. I want to see some more effort, some more vision in expressing those opinions before I see some attempt at that lovable Colbert-ish wit. I know the new activism on campus has presented you a rotund, inviting, already-basted-by-television-talking-heads-past rump to sink your salivating sarcasm into. But I dare say, have some more taste! Demonstrate that journalistic hunger for credible research and authorship!
Darts & Laurels once again derided students alarmed at a fellow student's Tasering for only seeking the unstructured, attention-getting path of protest, instead of the public forum. I ask the editorial board, was it aware that the meeting established as a consequence of the protest was held and well received last week between UF President Bernie Machen and a delegation of protesters? Did they stop to consider there's reason for little faith in the Student Government crony-laden review panel? Steps were taken. Check your facts.
