As an avid jean-shorts hater, I can not thank you enough for Kyle Cox's column, "Jean shorts hurt Gators' credibility," in Tuesday's paper. Having friends who attend the University of Georgia and as a regular attendee of the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville, I am so sick of being ridiculed for going to a school known for wearing jorts.
It's just downright embarrassing; there is no valid excuse for dressing in something that hasn't been fashionably acceptable since the 1980s. I cannot understand how such intelligent students can be so challenged when it comes to dressing appropriately for a football game - or every day for that matter. As a graphic design major, I have even created anti-jean short posters for a project. I am seriously contemplating hanging them around campus before the game this weekend.
It is my sincere hope that someday I will be able to attend a UF football game without seeing a single pair of jorts. Thank you, Mr. Cox, for your help in the matter.
