While SFCC's Kika Silva Pla Planetarium has been open to the public for a week, it is already making changes.
"About an hour before the first show, we had 500 people waiting," said Laurent Pellerin, the planetarium coordinator.
The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium seats 64 people per show.
On opening night, the planetarium had people come from Ocala, Lake City and Levy County, he said.
Because of the amount of people that came for the first show, the planetarium will have shows on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Originally, it was scheduled to have only one showing of "Southern Nights" on Friday and one showing of "Planets in the House!" on Saturday both at 8:30 p.m.
From Oct. 5 to December, show times will be at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the show, and no one will be allowed to enter after the show has started.
Beginning Monday, free advanced tickets will be available through the December shows at the reception desk of the Alan J. Robertson Administration Building at the SFCC Northwest Campus.
