Opinions bombarded the UF Office of University Relations after University Police Department officers Tasered telecommunication senior Andrew Meyer on Monday.
Steve Orlando, UF spokesman, said the office received hundreds of calls and e-mails Tuesday.
Students, alumni and concerned people from all over the community have called in, Orlando said.
People have seen the video and it's very upsetting to them, he said.
"Quite frankly, it's compelling video," Orlando said. "It captures the television viewer's attention."
People expressed concern about the use of Tasers and whether they were used because of the questions Meyer was asking Sen. John Kerry, Orlando said.
The office's goal is to have the Florida Department of Law Enforcement review the use of Tasers by UPD officers, he said.
Many of the responses the university relations office has received have been rude and full of bad language.
Orlando said the staff will answer the reasonable comments, adding that he feels bad for office employees who have answered calls.
"They've been abused," he said. "It's all part of the day, I guess."
