I was appalled to read Yooni Yi and the Gator Party's position that a one-party system in Student Government "isn't problematic."
When we have to hunt student senators down on Facebook in order to share our ideas or concerns because the SG Web site doesn't list their names or e-mails, there is something wrong with SG.
When the Gator Party promises wireless Internet for the second year in a row and there still isn't even a working timeline to expand wireless, there is something wrong with SG.
When a patronage system flourishes in agencies and Cabinet so that most students see SG as all but impenetrable, there is something wrong with SG.
The one-party system has failed us for years. We deserve better and there's no reason to believe that the Gator Party will deliver.
The choice is clear: the Gator Party and more of the same or the Progress Party and innovative change.
