UF wide receiver Percy Harvin did not practice Tuesday because of a hip-pointer injury he suffered during the Mississippi game.
Gators coach Urban Meyer said Harvin needs roughly three days to recover, but he?s certain the sophomore will play against Auburn on Saturday.
Harvin was fighting through the injury by running during practice, but the sophomore left about 45 minutes early to receive treatment.
BIt?s a concern because he?s missing practice,C Meyer said. BHe plays better when he practices. I mean, he?s killing himself trying to get back.C
Harvin recorded nine catches for 104 yards in the first half against the Rebels but missed out on most of the second half because of the injury.
Meanwhile, senior wide receiver Andre Caldwell will probably miss Saturday?s game, and cornerback Markihe Anderson is still unlikely to feature, Meyer said. However, freshman offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey will be back from his low-ankle sprain.
D-LINE COMPETITION: Sophomore Brandon Antwine, who has been hampered by a hyper-extended elbow, may see some playing time at defensive tackle.
Meyer expects Antwine to be healthy for the Auburn game, and he noted the lineman as an up-and-comer after practice.
BI have to check with Greg (Mattison) to see how good of a day he had, but there?s a lot of competition right now at D-line,C Meyer said.
Meyer also said he is still considering implementing 6-foot-6 freshman Carlos Dunlap.
LSU GAME TIME: UF announced that its game in Baton Rouge, La., has been scheduled for 8:28 p.m. EST on Oct. 6.
Coverage from Tiger Stadium will begin at 8 p.m. on CBS. This is UF?s second consecutive late game, as the Gators take on Auburn at 8 p.m. on ESPN this Saturday.
