This editorial brought to you by Speed Stick deodorant because our office is hot and smelly.

In light of Gator Growl announcing its new sponsor, Verizon Wireless, is giving Gator Growl ,112,500, we've decided that our newspaper should have corporate sponsorship.

We have ads already, but this will bring us to a whole new level. With all that extra dough, we'd bring you a bigger and better Alligator - full color, twice as many articles, maybe even a weekly poster. The possibilities would be endless.

An article on Student Senate could be sponsored by The Swamp Restaurant. A profile on Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan would come to you courtesy of Gerber. Any article about Gov. Charlie Crist could be paid for by Neutrogena self-tanners. And of course, all sports articles would be financed by Gatorade.

Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but with all this new money coming in - ,50,000 this year and ,62,500 in 2008 - maybe Gator Growl can give us a comedian comparable to Florida State University's PowWow, which showcased Stephen Colbert last year and is featuring Sarah Silverman this year.
