UF quarterback Treon Harris (3) passes during Florida's 41-7 loss to Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, 2016, in Orlando.

After two years at Florida, Treon Harris is transferring, the school confirmed Monday.

Harris started nine games at quarterback for the Gators last season and six in 2014.

After former UF quarterback Will Grier was suspended for taking performance enhancing drugs last October, Harris became the full-time starter. The Gators finished the season 4-4 with Harris at the helm.

Harris ends his UF career with 2,695 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through 21 games. He also rushed for 570 yards and three touchdowns on 171 carries.

Harris’ time at UF was marred by off-the-field incidents. The quarterback was suspended from the team in October of 2014 after being accused of sexual assault of a female student. The UF student withdrew her complaint less than a week later.

Then, in March, Harris and standout sophomore receiver Antonio Callaway were suspended from the team indefinitely after violating the school’s student code of conduct. No resolution has been made in that suspension.

Harris is the latest in a long line of UF quarterbacks to transfer from the school in the last five years, joining Will Grier, Jeff Driskel, Skyler Mornhinweg, Max Staver, Tyler Murphy and Jacoby Brissett.
