Gainesville Police arrested a man and woman accused of stealing from the Walmart at 5700 NW 23rd St. on Friday.

Veronika Gonzalez Ruiz, 24, and Lester Jova Rodriguez, 29, were charged with grand theft.

On March 20 around 3 p.m., Gonzalez and Jova were allegedly seen on camera stealing $430.72 worth of items from Walmart, according to the report. On the video, they were reportedly seen not scanning the items at self-checkout and walking out of the store.

Later, a witness observed the suspects returning to the store allegedly appearing to be stealing again, according to the report. The suspects ran when they saw the witness.

Gonzalez and Jova remained in the Alachua County Jail on Friday and Saturday in lieu of $10,000 bail for each. Jova posted bond Saturday and Gonzalez posted bond Monday, according to the jail.

Gonzalez and Jova could not be reached for comment.
