Hungry UF students can celebrate — Gator Corner Dining Center reopened Monday.
The three-month, $2.5 million renovation of the Stadium Road building included new seating in the dining rooms. In addition, the dining hall was repainted and got new equipment and countertops, Gator Dining spokeswoman Jill Rodriguez wrote in an email.
“It is very important to us that we create comfortable and vibrant spaces for our customers,” she
said. “We understand the importance of ensuring that our dining environments stay modern and
fresh to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
UF public relations senior Alexa Gedigian, 21, had a meal plan for two years and said she loved the variety of food she could choose from.
“Gator Dining itself was a huge help for me my freshman and sophomore year,” she said. “It’s kind of the college experience to eat at the dining halls and live in the dorms.”
Gedigian said she had hoped the dining hall would reopen during the summer.
“I’m for sure going to be going at some point this week now that it’s open because that makes it convenient for me to go during lunch,” she said.
Gator Dining is open with limited hours in Summer A, Rodriguez said. It will be open seven days a week starting June 26.
