Student Health Care Center wins state award

UF's Student Health Care Center received an award from the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Epidemiology for its reaction to a measles outbreak in Gainesville during spring 2007.
The bureau's Golden Partnership Award is given based on achievement in epidemiology and surveillance.
When a case of measles was found in a UF student-patient, the center alerted the Alachua County Health Department and offered UF students, faculty and staff free blood tests and measles vaccinations, an SHCC news release stated.
The Alachua County Health Department nominated the health care center for the award.
